ISHIWA - A Story of Japanese Craft

ISHIWA follows Kenji Aoyama, a Japanese jeans maker, through a day in his workshop. Cutting heavy selvedge denim. Pulling cotton threads through indigo dye. Guiding thick fabric across the worktable. The pace is calm. The movements precise. The focus is on material, texture and discipline.

The film is a study of Japanese denim craft, the weight of the fabric, the depth of indigo, the repetition of careful handwork. Every detail, from light to camera movement, was constructed inside a digital studio, allowing full control over environment and timing while preserving the visual language of traditional production.
